Event description

An extremely active tropical wave is expected to bring heavy rain, severe thunderstorms and strong north to northeast winds to St Maarten and coastal water. People are advised to keep up to date with the latest Warnings and Watches and check for additions and upgrades. Expect a further 20 to 40 mm of rain on top of what has already fallen, though possibly more in localized places. Peaks rates of 15 to 25 mm/h, but 25 to 40mm/h possible in localized downpours. Low chance of upgrading to a Red Warning. Potential Impacts: Ponds, streams and canals may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, rock fall, landslips, and difficult driving conditions possible.
